Consist of rollers mounted between two side members. Bearings are incorporated in the rollers to reduce mechanical losses. Roller conveyor may be UN powered or powered.
An UN powered gravity roller conveyor is set at an appropriate angle so that the goods slide on it by gravity. In powered roller conveyor, the drive unit so incorporated drives the rollers via chains or belts providing controlled horizontal movements of goods. Roller conveyors are among the most commonly used forms of internal transport provided the goods have the flat bases or be fitted with skids in the direction of the movement. Although these conveyors are “Unitized” & “Standardized” but it can also be custom built to any combination of roller and frame size depending upon the capacity and the material to be handled.
